A parcel of woes

Earlier this week, I received a package which I’d posted here in Brittany to a buyer in Cambridgeshire on 25th October. The parcel had obviously been to England, but had never been opened. Of course, I’d replaced it for the buyer a long time ago, so I laughed and put it down to the general incompetence of the postal service.
But my parcel has nothing on the “round the world in eighty days” trip taken by some Wedgwood china sold on eBay by retired radiologist Maura Pell. Sent from Kent to her American buyer in October, it was returned to her in January. She arranged with the buyer to resend to an alternative address in Holland, but the parcel has now been lost, and is believed to be somewhere between Gillingham and Thanet. Royal Mail and Parcelforce are blaming each other for the loss.
I hope she used plenty of bubble wrap!
