Skype goes Chinese for the US and Canada

To celebrate the Chinese New Year Skype are giving away 24 free minutes of SkypeOut to all US and Canada based users. Visit the Skype website to claim your credits.
It’s a limited offer and Skype have given no indication how long it will be available. Why they’ve not made it a worldwide promotion hasn’t been revealed, but possibly it’s to bring back users that refused to pay $29.95 for unlimited free calls on Skype in the US. It would be interesting to know what the take up for this offer is - those with the free call plan will get no additional benefit. Of course in the UK anyone that spent £10 on Skype services before January 1st still has free SkypeOut to landlines for six months.
