eBay India names Ambareesh Murty country manager

eBay India has appointed a new Country Manager. Ambareesh Murty replaces Rajan Mehra, who is leaving the company to pursue his entrepreneurial interests in the venture capital industry. Ambareesh said, “I am delighted to take on my new role and am looking forward to leading the strong eBay eCommerce business in India.”

Ambareesh has been with eBay since December 2005, and has held a variety of management posts, most recently the Director of Marketing and Operations position. He will assume his new role from today, and we wish him every success.

Updated to add: eBay India have put out statements from both Ambareesh and Rajan.

    I wonder how Ebay deal with the Caste system in India?

    Maybe only certain Castes have access to Ebay?
