Postal strikes could be on the way in the Coventry area over plans to close the Bishop Street sorting office and move operations to Northampton. Union officials have previously said that workers could strike if the proposals went ahead. City council leaders had suggested seven alternative sites, including the site of a former Peugeot factory, but all have been rejected as unsuitable by Royal Mail managers. Around 600 people currently work in the sorting office.
