eBay to unveil new platform at DevCon

by Sue Bailey

TechCrunch reveal that eBay’s Developer Conference will today unveil Project Echo, an expanded set of APIs allowing developers to build applications which can appear within the Seller Manager section of the site. Until now, only eBay’s own tools have been available within SM. The platform will not launch publicly until next year, but a couple of partners will demo applications built on it: Terapeak can show recent market research data to sellers, and Hosted Support offer a communications management tool.

We can’t wait here at vzaar towers for this.

Now that you can have vzaar videos sit in your templates and just automatically manage the listing we don’t want to lose touch with our customers.

We have plenty ideas of what we could do with this sort of functionally. Initially we would probably just have your video stats (how many, play counts, popular vids etc), but look to extend this to doing uploads and embeds directly from the eBay platform too.

Fantastic news, and I’ll be trying to hunt down Max (as well as the British dev boys Jonny and Cian) tomorrow night about this.
