The Luggage, in aid of Alzheimer’s researchFans of Terry Pratchet have the opportunity to bid on a unique bit of memorabilia this week, and to help a very good cause at the same time. Up for auction on eBay UK is a one-off replica of the Luggage, filled with a complete library of Pratchett’s books, signed by the author, the production designs for the Luggage as seen in Sky One’s adaption of The Colour of Magic, and a copy of the 25th anniversary edition of TCoM, signed by the stars of the TV adaption, Sir David Jason and Sean Astin.

The auction is in aid of the Alzheimer’s Research Trust. Pterry was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s last year, and has recently announced that he has donated £500,000 towards Alzheimer’s research. Fans have started a ‘Match It for Pratchett’ campaign, to encourage 500,000 readers to donate £1 each to match Pterry’s donation.

This is a cause very close to my family’s heart, so I hope no one minds me pimping it here.
